The Swan showing is located on the east side of the Bear River, 6 kilometres north-northeast of Stewart.

The showing comprises a skarn zone developed in metasediments of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation (Hazelton Group) just northwest of the contact with biotite quartz monzonite of the Eocene Hyder pluton (Coast Plutonic Complex). The skarn zone contains sphalerite and pyrrhotite in a gangue of garnet, epidote and diopside.

In 1969, Granduc Mines Limited completed 30 metres of trenching through overburden.
